Amidst the lingering melodies of the Eastern music piece “The Butterfly Lovers” and the classic French musical “Les Misérables”, the 2025 Suzhou Jinji Lake China-France Culture and Art Week concluded with a great success.

Starting from Oct 17, the event integrated exhibitions, markets, art performances, films, literature and cuisine, bringing authentic French charm to local residents and tourists.

The lakeside recital session combined with literature, music, dancing and a French letter exhibition attracted lots of participants including college students and teachers, literature and art enthusiasts and tourists.

Another highlight is the exhibition in honor of Antoine de Saint Exupéry, author of The Little Prince. The exhibition displays 62 precious manuscripts and documents, offering deep insights into the writer’s life and literary legacy.

Other highlights included a photography exhibition, literary salon sessions, digital reading and other activities designed to promote Sino-French cultural exchanges.

The artistic installation called “Gaze”, jointly created by Frédéric Baron, co-designer of the Le mur des je t’aime (“Wall of Love”) in Montmartre, France, Fei Zhixiong, a Chinese calligrapher, and Zhang Dalu, a professor at the School of Art of Soochow University, has become a new attraction at Ligongdi Cultural and Creative Block.

The Chinese and French Young Designers Invitational Exhibition, scheduled to last till November, showcases over 70 works by young Chinese and French designers.
